Our Sickness

I don't have much to talk about this week. We have all been sick and are on the mend (hopefully). Last Wednesday, Neal started coming down with a stomach virus. He thought it was something he ate, but we later decided it was a virus. He was feeling pretty bad on Thursday, but managed to keep the boys for part of the day. Both were home sick and I had to go into work and get some things done. I still haven't decided if it was the virus or just the crud. They were both sick at their stomachs, but they were also coughing a lot, too. They were both better Friday. Friday night, Blaine's coughing got much worse. He coughed all weeked pretty much every breath. Cough medicine just doesn't do much for him. A lot of the time, he coughs until he throws up. Saturday they both felt pretty bad again. Sunday was better. Blaine was still coughing. Monday afternoon, Neal took him to the doctor and he got augmentin, prednisone, and more cough medicine. Blaine doesn't take augmentin very well. This is the first time he has taken it since he was really little. I have refused it every since, because it made him so sick. We got him to eat alot Monday night before he took it, and he did ok with it. Tuesday morning was a different story. I fixed him breakfast, but he just didn't want to eat. I gave him the medicine anyway, because he really needed to get it in his system. Well, his teacher called me to come get him because he had thrown up. I immediately knew why...the medicine. I went and got him and he was fine the rest of the day. He stayed home with Neal. Neal was up all night Monday night, so he needed to rest anyway! He coughed very little last night and this morning. I'm anxious to hear how he made it at school.

Judd is better. He came home with a knot on his forehead. I asked him what happened and he said that Bubba did it. Of course, that was a lie. I asked him if Asa (his friend) did it and he started pulling up his shirt and said Asa bite. When I put him in the bath tub, there it was, a bad looking bite mark on his arm. For all I know, he might have bitten Asa, too.

I started taking an antibiotic Monday, so I am feeling better. My ear is still sort of stopped up. I have been up since before 4:00 this morning. Judd woke me up and I just couldn't go back to sleep for thinking about everything that needed to be done. A little after 4:00, I decided to get up and get some things done. I think I need to start doing that about once a week! I got a lot done. Just one little thing.. I must remember to turn my alarm off. I felt so bad this morning when I realized that it was going off and was going to wake Neal up. I got up there as soon as I could, but it was too late. He had gotten up to turn it off.

I'm going to leave you with a cute picture that I took of the boys with my phone. The quality is not good at all, but I couldn't resist posting it!

Weekend Highlights

Our weekend was pretty quite for the most part. Saturday morning I woke up with my sinuses bothering me again. Blaine and Judd didn't feel the best either. Judd wanted me to hold him practically all day. I had so much to do, but I just let it go. Holding my babies is far more important than house work. I did manage to get my laundry caught up and my floors mopped. I also cooked a meal for some friends of ours who recently had a baby. We listened to the LA Rebelettes win their 5th straight AA State Championship!!! So far this season, they are District Champs, North State Champs, and State AA Champs. All that's left is the Overall tournament that takes place this week. Good Luck, Girls!!

Sunday after church, Nana had Neal an early birthday lunch complete with a Jeff Gordon birthday cake. Lunch was so good! I love a good home cooked meal that someone else has cooked!
Judd is feeling better, but Blaine is still coughing his head off. I've got him a doctor's appointment for this afternoon, so maybe he will soon be well again.

Valentines Day

We had a nice little Valentines Day and weekend...nothing extravagant, just family time together! Saturday morning I cleaned house while the boys played. Saturday afternoon the boys stayed with Nana while Neal and I went to Jenny's ballgame. I knew that it was going to be a packed house, so it was a BIG relief for them to stay with Nana. It was a great game and we won!! Saturday night, Nana had pizza for us when we went to pick the boys up.

Sunday was a busy day. Here the boys had already started working on their sugar high!!

After Neal came in and we were ready for church, I gave them their Valentine gifts.

Judd was excited about all of the candy!!

Blaine got a new DS game that he had been wanting along with candy and a few other happies.

Judd got this horse, candy, and a few other things. Blaine has a horse the same size and Judd loves to try to ride it.

Trying out his new game.

Trying out his new horse!!

After church, we took lunch to Papa Z and Gran. Papa Z's birthday was last week, so we had to celebrate! We watched most of the race and the boys watched a movie. Next, was our Valentine Banquet at church. We got there early to help get everything ready. It was so nice and the food was so good! A good time was had by all!

Nana and the boys at the banquet.
Our little family.

After the banquet we went to see Grandaddy, Jean Jean, and Uncle Jamey. They hadn't seen the boys since the weekend, so they were dying to see them! Judd didn't get his nap Sunday afternoon, so he was asleep before we got there. We had a nice day even if it was busy!

Snow, Snow, Snow!

As you all know we were blessed with snow Thursday night and Friday. It was a nice Valentine's treat!

The view from our house

The view from the top of our driveway.

At the end of our road. Neal and the boys took me to work, because we didn't know how the road conditions would be.

Neal and the boys got out and played for a little while. Nana came over and played with them and took some pictures for me. (Thanks!)

I guess this is the redneck way of playing in the snow!! Oh well, at least they had fun!

I wish I could have been there to watch them and throw my share of the snow balls!!

In Memory of Magnum

Magnum a/k/a Rocket as Blaine calls him died last week at the age of 22. I grew up trail riding and penning cows on Magnum.

Blaine learned to ride on Magnum. They rode many miles together.

I love this picture of the 2 of them.

Judd had already started learning to ride on Magnum. This was Magnum's last trail ride (last October) and his last time to be ridden.

Grandaddy told Blaine a couple of weeks ago that Magnum was sick, and Blaine said, "Well, Grandaddy, are you taking care of him?" Thankfully, Blaine had already moved on to Clyde, and Judd was not yet attached to him. He will sure be missed by all of us!

I did something I said I would never do...

...we trail rode on the Dixie National Trial Ride for 2 days around 35 miles in 38 degree weather. On Saturday the wind was blowing and the wind chill was MUCH cooler! We had a good time, but we thought the weather was going to be in the 50's and sunny. Boy, were we wrong!! Thankfully, I took plenty of clothes.

The boys had a ball...they didn't care how cold it was.

Blaine had fun talking with all the out riders on the walkie talkie.
Blaine and Uncle Jamey. Jamey had to work in Memphis for a couple days this week and woke up to 8 inches of snow this morning. He is coming back tomorrow night to finish the ride.

This was our best friend over the weekend. It made the 38 degree weather tolerable.

Blaine and Mermaid

Everytime we made Judd get off the mule and get in the wagon he just cried and cried. He thought he was just as big as everyone else!!

They both wore their chaps all weekend long. They looked so cute in them.

My sweet boys. They were so good this weekend. They enjoyed every minute of it!!

Blaine on Clyde and Jean Jean on Kate

This was our ride for the weekend.

Judd and Grandaddy
Blaine was over pictures by this point, but Judd was lovin' it!

Not a worry in the world..sitting on a horse with a saddle horn in one hand and a monster truck in the other. It just doesn't get much better than that in the eyes of a 2 year old!!

Another Busy Week

Well, it has been another busy week for us. They seem to all be that way. I've had a bad sinus infection with terrible headaches. I'm finally feeling better today though! We are gearing up for the Dixie National Trail Ride that starts tomorrow. Judd and I had the task of cleaning the camper last night. It.was.nasty. It hadn't been cleaned since the crew got back from Talladega back in November...yes, it's very embarrassing. I was hoping Neal would do it, but he hasn't had time!! Neal and Blaine were gone, so Judd and I got soaking wet, but we got it done. All of the sheets and blankets had to be brought in to wash. I've still got to get everything together this afternoon when I get home. The boys are excited. I hope we will have good weather even though it's going to be very muddy. I just hope and pray that everyone stays safe this year and we won't have to relive last year's ride.

I wanted to show you the shirts I made for Anna Claire for her birthday. I also made one with her name on it, but didn't get finished with it. I hope to finish it before long. I've also made Blaine some, but haven't taken pictures yet.

Have a good weekend!!

Blaine's BUSY Weekend

Blaine went to his first lock-in Friday night at our church. It was for the RA group. I think Blaine had a blast.

They played video games and watched movies. We went by for a little while and helped get supper ready and served. I think they all finally went to bed after midnight. Blaine surprised me and stayed all night!

The group. They DID NOT want to line up for a picture, but I managed to talk them into it. We've got to have some pictures to fill up that bulletin board behind them!

A few minutes after Blaine got home Saturday morning, Brewer's Moma called and invited Blaine to go to the movies with them. Since he seemed to be in a pretty good mood, I let him go. Well, he ended up spending the night with them, too! I knew that he would be so tired Sunday, but he did pretty good. When I got there around 8:30 Sunday morning, he was still asleep. I got him up and we went home and got ready for church. After church we had a birthday party. Last night he didn't want to go to sleep. Needless to say, I had to drag him out of bed this morning. I think all of the fun has caught up with him. I'm going to try to get him in bed super early tonight!!

Judd and I spent the day Saturday playing, reading books, and just being together. He loves to line his toys up. You can see that he even had balls lined up. He put anything he could find! At the beginning of his train, he had books lined up.

Judd missed his Bubba so much. He just couldn't understand where Bubba was. The first thing he asked both Saturday and Sunday mornings was "Where's Bubba?"

Saturday night, he wanted us to go get Blaine, but I promised him that we would the next morning.

My little sweatheart! I could just eat 'em up!!
