Cozumel

Cozumel was beautiful!

We spent part of the day at Paradise Beach and that is just what it was ...PARADISE!!!

This the taxi that took us to the beach. I wasn't sure if we were going to make it there or not with his driving!!

They had 2 parrots...which were actually mean!

The beach and water were beautiful!! The water here was a totally different color than Progreso. It was so blue!

The only "drink" I had the whole trip!!

Later in the day, we did some shopping. Neal was so nice and let me go in and out of each store without complaining!!

We ate at Fat Tuesday's. It was an outside restaurant right beside the beach.

They were even celebrating the Saints!! See the WHO DAT in the banner?

We loved Cozumel and could have stayed there much longer. All of the water excursions were cancelled here because the water was so rough. A storm and cold front had gone through a couple of days earlier. When we left Cozumel headed back to Mobile, the cruise director announced that we would start to feel the high waves. And she was right! It was bad the whole night and into the day Wednesday. They even put barf bags out around the ship. Luckily, we had patches, so we didn't get sick. There were many people that were sick! When we were on the tour and went in the bridge, Neal asked how tall the waves had been. We had been through 17 foot waves!! No wonder it was so rough!

The Dining Room

We were assigned to the Jubilee Dining Room. It was really elegant. We sat with 4 other couples from Georgia, Mobile, Florida, and North Carolina. We had the best time with them!

These were our waiters. The one on the left was the assistant. His name was I Made. The middle one was the head waiter. His name was Joseph. The one on the right was the bartneder for our table. I never learned how to say his name! He always had a smile on his face! They were all excellent. Each night they would sing a song for us and do a dance.

The food was delicious, but some was interesting. This is snail. I didn't order it, but the man beside me did.

This is salmon that the same man ordered.

A salad

This stuff was wonderful..warm chocolate melting cake. As many times as I ordered it, I forgot to take a picture before I started eating it. We got the recipe for it on the tour that we went on!! Yay!!

Neal and I tried calamari or squid! I wasn't too impressed! We also had steak, shrimp, and lobster.

Towel Animals

They truly pampered us! Our room was scrubbed twice a day...in the morning and at night. While we were at dinner they would come in and turn down our covers and leave us a towel animal. It was fun to come in each night and see what they had made for us.

There was always something to do. There were broadway shows, comedians, jugglers, talent shows, bingo, ventriloquist, and bands playing all the time. They want to make sure that you have a good time.

We sure got our moneys worth!

It was truly a vacation that we will always remember. Neal is already planning another one!

I still have one more post coming up. I'm going to scan the pictures of Neal and me that we bought on the ship. It was hard to pick which pictures to post. I hope you have enjoyed them!

Our Winter Get-a-way

In case you didn't know, Neal and I left out a week ago Saturday on a cruise. We got home Thursday. We had the BEST time. If you have never been on a cruise, you are missing out!!

We left out of Mobile, AL and stopped at Progreso and Cozumel, Mexico.

Cozumel was BEAUTIFUL!!!
I will do a much bigger cruise post when I have time to go through all of my pictures!
We got back on Thursday afternoon right after Blaine had gotten out of school. He was so glad to see us!! Judd was asleep, so it took him a few minutes to figure out what was going on. I spent the rest of the afternoon getting caught up on kisses, hugs, and snuggling. I think we missed the boys way more than they missed us! ha! Friday, I had to help Neal get caught up with everything around the farm. We were home very little over the weekend. We spent most of it going to birthday parties. I got most of my laundry caught up Saturday morning while spending time with the boys. Saturday afternoon we went to Hanna's skating party, then we met up and ate Mexican for Mandy's 30th birthday that is coming up. We also went to see baby Brennon. He is growing so much and is so sweet! Next stop was Wal-Mart. We had to have some groceries. We were out of everything! Sunday was church and 2 more parties. We celebrated Mimi's 91st birthday (I have pictures to post) with a lunch at her house, and Shelby's birthday with a skating party. Needless to say, I am looking forward to having some nights at home this week!

Today is Mimi's 91st Birthday!! I hope I can live to be that old and still be in good health like she is. She still drives. She goes to the beauty shop and town to buy groceries on Fridays. She still goes to church and pretty much anywhere else locally.

Our Sickness

I don't have much to talk about this week. We have all been sick and are on the mend (hopefully). Last Wednesday, Neal started coming down with a stomach virus. He thought it was something he ate, but we later decided it was a virus. He was feeling pretty bad on Thursday, but managed to keep the boys for part of the day. Both were home sick and I had to go into work and get some things done. I still haven't decided if it was the virus or just the crud. They were both sick at their stomachs, but they were also coughing a lot, too. They were both better Friday. Friday night, Blaine's coughing got much worse. He coughed all weeked pretty much every breath. Cough medicine just doesn't do much for him. A lot of the time, he coughs until he throws up. Saturday they both felt pretty bad again. Sunday was better. Blaine was still coughing. Monday afternoon, Neal took him to the doctor and he got augmentin, prednisone, and more cough medicine. Blaine doesn't take augmentin very well. This is the first time he has taken it since he was really little. I have refused it every since, because it made him so sick. We got him to eat alot Monday night before he took it, and he did ok with it. Tuesday morning was a different story. I fixed him breakfast, but he just didn't want to eat. I gave him the medicine anyway, because he really needed to get it in his system. Well, his teacher called me to come get him because he had thrown up. I immediately knew why...the medicine. I went and got him and he was fine the rest of the day. He stayed home with Neal. Neal was up all night Monday night, so he needed to rest anyway! He coughed very little last night and this morning. I'm anxious to hear how he made it at school.

Judd is better. He came home with a knot on his forehead. I asked him what happened and he said that Bubba did it. Of course, that was a lie. I asked him if Asa (his friend) did it and he started pulling up his shirt and said Asa bite. When I put him in the bath tub, there it was, a bad looking bite mark on his arm. For all I know, he might have bitten Asa, too.

I started taking an antibiotic Monday, so I am feeling better. My ear is still sort of stopped up. I have been up since before 4:00 this morning. Judd woke me up and I just couldn't go back to sleep for thinking about everything that needed to be done. A little after 4:00, I decided to get up and get some things done. I think I need to start doing that about once a week! I got a lot done. Just one little thing.. I must remember to turn my alarm off. I felt so bad this morning when I realized that it was going off and was going to wake Neal up. I got up there as soon as I could, but it was too late. He had gotten up to turn it off.

I'm going to leave you with a cute picture that I took of the boys with my phone. The quality is not good at all, but I couldn't resist posting it!
